Alan Ross brings 40+ years of international development advisory experience across more than 70 countries, working with governments, UN agencies, and the main Development banks. He has assisted numerous countries to develop Strategic action plans He has written guidelines and manuals for both internal and external use by aid agencies, Development banks and UN entities.
1 Examples of Road safety, Action plans and Project Design guidelines
- Alan wrote the Internal guidelines on project design, monitoring and evaluation of FINNIDA (Finland government’s aid agency) whole portfolio of development aid projects,
- was the lead author of several internationally acclaimed guidelines and handbooks on road safety issues such “Towards Safer Roads” on planning, design and operation of roads (distributed free to 100+ countries),
- the ADB Road Safety guidelines (distributed by ADB to its 50+ member countries for use in their roads departments,)
- Road safety audit guidelines for ADB internal staff use and for distribution to their 50 + member countries,
- Accident costing guidelines and a regional strategy for the 10 ASEAN countries .
- He also wrote guidelines on Action Plans for the UNESCAP Transport and Tourism section (distributed to 50+ ESCAP member countries.
- National road safety action plans in numerous countries
- internal Action plans for ADB and EIB to integrate road safety into all of their lending programmes
Several of his guidelines were translated into other languages e.g. Spanish, Chinese, Bahasa (Indonesia), Russian and Farsi (Iran)

- 5 introductory books on AI impacts on key groups (businesses, programmers, unemployed graduates, knowledge workers and individuals) in the developing world available in 31 languages making the information accessible to over 6 Billion people

- Weekly newsletters on AI developments and implications for governments , AI academies and AI entrepreneurs
- Twice monthly Global webinars on AI issues of relevance to the deeloping world
- 20 long and 12 short educational YouTube videos on impacts of AI and Technological Disruptions on the main YouTube channel "AI for the developing world" and in each of the 10 language channels to make the content accessible to over 2 Billion people
Providing advice to governments, AI academies and AI entrepreneurs in the developing world on how to prepare for and to harness AI for delivery of SDGs and to use that to fast-track economic development.
